Circo,
Two thoughts. First, did you offer to submit these to the No-Intro Screenshot Archive group for distribution with their sets? Second, did you ask any sort of permission to distribute an image set using their naming convention? Just a couple of thoughts, obviously I respenct your effort and greatly appreciate all you do.

Keep up the good work,
John

Any plans to offer snaps for SNES?  Every set I run across has a ton that don't match the rom name.

I am almost done with the snaps and titles, I am just going through them and making sure that all of the pics are correctly cropped.  Should be done in a week or so.

I have tried to contact the no intro group a few times to see if they would be interested in the sets that I am doing but have never recieved a response back.  I never considered asking permission about using their naming convention, so no I never did.  I have recieved many messages about the naming conventions of my sets and it seems as if the Goodxxxx naming convention is pretty much on the way out.

So I finally decided to use the No-Intro standard on everything possible going forward because that seems to be the most popular.  My updated video sets will also be using that naming convention so that everything matches up and works without issue in a FE.  I guess I should ask if this is going to be a problem before I go any further, if the no intro guys are really picky about anyone using their naming convention then I will not support it and go back to Goodxxxx naming.

One last point while the No-Intro screenshot archive is a good resource, their download system is not condusive for what we are doing with these files.  My whole thought process here is an abilty to easily aquire the most complete and easy to use sets for use in a Front End.  With no set up, adjustments, or anything like that.  You should be able to take my packs with a matching rom set and it works in seconds.  The no intro screenshot sets are not even named correctly when you download them, just a bunch of numbers in the filename.  I am talking with Moby Games about my videos, as a partnership could help me to increase traffic to my site, but that is still a ways off.

So the question is: Use No-Intro for all releases going forward or use Cowering's Good Sets.  Feedback???

Oh and good to see you around again John, it's been awhile  :)

Well  No-Intro does seem to be the future naming convention. So in my opinion you should stick with that. I'm suprised you haven't been able to contact them. You are talking about tha No-Intro Screenshot Archive right?
Circo:
Yeah, it's been about 5 or six months since I last tried, back when I was having website woes.  Of course since then I just spent some good old fashion cash and got everything up and running the right way.  But the website pays for itself now and all is well, I never would have been able to host these files before so that's why I was looking for a place to put them.
