| JPAC Sending Key Continuously |

I have exhausted my testing and searching to correct my issue. I purchased a JPAC and connected to my JAMMA setup. Originally when I setup the JPAC none of the buttons matched up with the default setup. I was however able to program to correct. My issue now, after I rebooted the machine I receive numerous blinking lights at boot up. Within windows xp I open notepad and go into programming mode and it tells me 1 sw 3 is pressed or shorted. In testing I removed the JAMMA connector and keyboard and rebooted the machine. On restart the JPAC is sending the pressed or shorted issue (space button). No other input device is connected and the JPAC is sending space button command continuously to the machine. The JPAC is connected via USB. Please help! |

check your wiring, some loose connection or something. My cab was going nuts for two days, some of the dollar store electrical tape got loose. my cab would escape when i would press pause and throw fireballs with streetfighter II. My player 2 buttons would act like my player 1 joystick, reboot computer start working fine, reboot stopped working at all. Nothing was touching, the loose connections would make it give wrong signals to the encoder i guess. Re tapped a few wires and everything is fine now. |

I had a similar issue. Thought my Keywiz had left me :hissy: Turned out my son had been jamming pennies in it for credits...one fell through and lodged the credit swith on the coin mech in the "on" position. Xam |

Yup same thing happened to me, turned out to be the wires connecting to my coin mech. A little insulation tape fixed it. |

Thanks for the responses, I have added more info for clarification. For testing... The JAMMA harness is not connected to the JPAC nor the keyboard. I only have the computer, monitor, and JPAC connected. This means no switches or input device (besides the JPAC) are connected. Yet the computer is registering the JPAC as sending the continuous key (Space Bar). As soon as I unplug the JPAC (USB) the continuous key (Space Bar) stops. What can I do to stop/reset the JPAC? I hope this information helps. |
