The thermostat opens and closes to control the flow of coolant based on a set temperature. If your thermostat is stuck open, the coolant never reaches full temperature and your heater wouldn't blow hot air.

Hrm.  Odds are I won't look into it as I plan on replacing the car in the Spring with a pickup anyway.

You sure blow enough hot air around here to keep things nice and toasty. This thread alone has enough wasted energy to stave off an ice age.

If only there was some way to harness that power!   8)

Could also be clogged, which would cause it to not work, but not leak either.
