Hey guys,

Decided to make a portable 4-player arcade machine based on one of my favorite games of all time....Bomberman! I wanted this one to look like a nuclear device. I'm sure there's an FBI alert on me for all of the "bomb" related searches I did on the internet for reference  :timebomb:

It has a 22 inch monitor, illuminated "bomb" buttons, illuminated fighter pilot style switches (used for admin functions), key switch to power on pc, mini itx motherboard, 2 gigs ram, pico psu power supply and I used a 2 gb CF flash card for the hdd.

Check it out, hope you like:

There's a few more photos of the building process on my site if anyone is interested: http://www.meaninglessmilestones.com/tinkerings/tinkerings.html

Cheers,
Matt

I thought you bought a case like that but excellent job on making that from scratch  :notworthy:  I'm also use the same ITX mobo in my bartop arcade right now.  Also saw your Arcade Overdose too and love the artwork and excellent job overall.  Glad to see you love GGG's stuff as much as me  ;D

Haha, coolest thing ever! I would love to rock up to a gathering and pull this out.

Btw Bomberman is awesome, I used to own Bomberman world the arcade machine.

Have you ever played Atomic bomberman for the PC?

Holy crap! That is awesome!

At first glance, I thought you'd used a prebuilt "concert equipment" case or something. All scratch built? Fantastic.

And your theme works perfectly.

Plus, Bomberman's a great game to boot!

Well done!

i'd like to see more pictures maybe with someone in them to get a size comparison, ;)

cracking job again fella, what else have you got up your sleeve to show us.
ive got a case id guess about that size looking for a use now ive bought my massive toolcase, maybe i should look at copying what youve done here for some arcade action in work, saying that i could turn the big case into a full size cab, hmm now thats just silly.
 :cheers:i
got COLOR codes from projects, post them here

add stuff to the uk wiki section

What a great project! I'd love to know more on the hardware used. Computer/MAME/box wise.... I'm sure several people here would like to
have links for the metal corners and what have you.

Really looks nice. How long did it take to build?

WOW! That just looks amazing. Great build. I love how industrial it looks even with after scratch building it. Is it corded or battery powered?
Where's my gold star :P

Thx for the kind words guys, here's some links to the hardware that I used:

Mobo/processor combo:

2 gb ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161240

CF card adaptor:

2gb CF card:

Metal corners:

Butterfly latches:

Cabinet Handles:
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=260-700

The rest of the hardware I got from home depot, such as the aluminum "L" shaped stuff that I put around the edges. I wanted it to be as light as possible, so I put it all together with pop rivets. I got the fighter pilot fighter switches at the radioshack near my house. Pinball Wizard: It's corded, although battery power would be pretty cool, I had an extra power connector jack from another project, I think I might have gotten it from mouser.com. I'm pretty sure I have some more photos of the building process around here somewhere, I'll see if I can dig them up.

Cheers,
Matt

That is an amazing setup. It gave me some ideas for future projects. There are a couple of sites for the road case hardware.

Nice, thx for the links! I had actually been trying to find some of that metal speaker grill material, that's on the first site that you listed. They seem to have a bigger selection of case building hardware than partsexpress too.
