I highly recommend SATA PCI cards; I've put them in all of my older IDE machines and have never had a bit of trouble. You get the speed, convenience, and futureproofing (FWIW) of SATA in a non-SATA machine.

are all sata connectors the same?  I am looking for a PCI card with internal sata 2 connectors for cheap.  Will sata 150 work with a sata 2 HD and just run slower?

should work with this HD
