| Extending PC power question |
| (1/1) |
| pboreham:
Hi, Sorry to re-post this as its in my other 'PC' thread, but I really need an answer so I can finish this job! I will be extending the 5V and 12V from my PC and will need to add 18 gauge wiring to the splitter I have. Could somebody please let me know if its ok to twist the wire from the extender to the 18 gauge and tape it with electrical tape. Or do I need to solder it - or another method? Just want it to be safe before I try anything. Thanks! |

Twisting and electrical tape works fine for me to extend the PC power supply. I don't think you have too much to worry about at that low of a current. |

... or use a little bit of solder on each to improve reliability etc, at least for a longer term application. |
