Alright, so my project announcement thread is here.. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=70324.0

I am somewhat stuck on where to go from here. I have a working original nintendo DK power supply (as far as I know). I have the original working Sanyo EZ monitor. I am at a loss as to what to do for wiring this thing up. I just won an auction for a working DK PCB. That should get here sometime this week I would guess. I have no wire harness' for the cab whatsoever. I am planning on building a control panel from scratch using some new leafs and a sanwa joystick that is on order through Ponyboy and should be here this week as well. So I am asking what do I do from here.

I dont know wether I should spend the 125 bucks to get a 'complete' DK power solution from arcadeshop (http://www.arcadeshop.com/pics/kong-harness.jpg). But if I do this wont my video be inverted so I would need an inverter board to invert the video back to the original 'inverted' video which is required by the Sanyo Monitor?? I have written sgregory@arcadeshop.com but he has not yet returned my email's. I am just at a total loss here. If I do this since I am building the cp from scratch wont I then need to splice off the ends of that and wire it all up myself anyways.. I am just lost..

I dont have alot of money to thorw at this project which I never imagined would cost me this much to begin with haha.. I am really just looking for my best solution. I would love to find someone with a bunch of the internal wiring (harness') for a DK cab and just have them sell me all the wires I need but I havent been able to find a place online to sell me what all is required. Nor have I really even found what all is required. I have just seen the three or so power cables which jump from the power supply to the pcb.

I hope someone out there can point me in the right direction as im very close to finishing this project I just need some help in what to do and where to go next.

Thanks so much for looking,

Neil
BobA:
Bob Roberts has a page that explains how to connect a switcher to a DK and still retain the ability to connect your old DK supply.    If you just want to replace the DK and use a switcher then you can forget about the molex connections that just make the PS changeable.   For about $30 for a switcher and the cost of wire and a connector you can build the 125 dollar arcade shop power harness.

Yeah, I have that page book marked but I do not have the adapter that hooks up to the PCB itself. I was hoping to go this route but where do I find the smaller black connectors that attach to the PCB???

/edit

is there some sort of edge connector I can use on the DK board that is available online? All I see is the 'expensive' cables available all separately of course from quarterarcade.. I would love to see a DK edge connector or something that I can just match the wires to where they need to be and be done with it..

The BIGGEST misunderstanding about the Sanyo 20EZ is that it is ALREADY designed to accept the inverted signal which is what is coming from an original Nintendo game pcb. The "inverter" board on those monitors is for running any OTHER games on it. (standard RGB signals) You don't even need the inverter board at all for a DK setup.

The wiring harness for sale by Arcadeshop is designed to completely replace a DK harness and is setup for a switching power supply. Meaning you wouldn't use your original power supply unless you wanted the 24vdc for the coin counters. It's really up to you if you want to buy a harness or make your own. Download the DK manual for the schematics and pinouts if you decide to build your own. But you would need the right pcb edge connector and other connectors and wiring to do it yourself.

Bob Roberts will have everything you need to build a harness if you decide to go that route. Including the pcb edge connector.

Did you get a TWO board or a FOUR board DK pcb set from ebay?
(needto know info whether you decide to buy or build a harness)
