How to map mouse buttons.
pboreham:
I've just finished the first phase of wiring for my CP but have a q that I cannot find the answer for.
On my CP, i have 2 buttons for left and right mouse buttons to use with the Electric Ice-T trackball.
Could somebody please point me in the right direction of how to make the PC recognise the buttons as mouse buttons? I'm using KeyWiz if you can do it through that??
Thanks for any help guys!
BobA:
Mouse buttons connect thru the opti wiz that came with your elec ice trackball. Directions should be provided from GGG where to connect or you can get a premade harness from GGG. If connected via the opti wiz they should automatically be recongnized as mouse buttons.

Ah.... I didnt get an OptiWiz (Randy advised not to get one - guess I didnt explain I'd be having mouse buttons).
Is there no other way to do it - like through the KeyWiz, or can I do a mouse-hack (once I find out what one is!?)
SavannahLion:
Through the keyboard, you would have to use a mouse simulator. Microsoft OS has one packaged in their OS called MouseKeys, it's under the Accessibility Options. You'll need to remap the buttons to whatever keys is used by MouseKeys.
Hardware wise, just hack the buttons from a mouse to your buttons.

Thanks Savanah!
Whats easier/best? I dont know anything about mouse hacking - but I have got the PA book and I'm sure there is a section about it in there I could read up on.
Cheers!
