My wife wasn't really supportive of the games UNTIL she saw the hit they made at our daughter's bday party- since then she's had a newfound interest in them.. :D I think she realizes now how special they really are to have! VG |

My wife had been supportive up to a point. She likes the MAME cabinet, but still DESPISES all the time I spent planning and working bit-by-bit on it. As it turns out she doesn't like to talk about the finer points of picking a joystick. I had to struggle to get my JAMMA cabinet, but once Mr Driller 2 was in it she became instantly addicted. She didn't bat an eye when I brought home the Neo-Geo 2-slot (with Bust-A-Move). Unfortunately, we're now going to be "seperated" and probably get divorced (not directly due to the games). On the plus side I only have 3 cabs to move (and a cocktail) but I'm guessing my collection will be building soon. I'm moving back to my hometown and one of my friends is "the guy" who knows everybody in town. There have been times when the biggest operator in town calls HIM when he needs to clear out warehouse space. It seems like a good time to have as many diversions as possible. |

Zero support over here... I started a MAME project 2 years ago that still is not completely assembled. She just thinks it's a waste of time and money that should be used on other things and she refuses to let me put it in the house. I have to wait until the basement gets finished which is in the 5 year plan. I want to start collecting dedicated machines also but it'll be tough to get them into the house. I have someone willing to sell me a Centipede for $200 that has only been in home use it's whole life and it's in mint cosmetic condition, just needs a cap kit. It's in Rochester and I'm in Albany. I was telling her about it today... and I quote " I'm not impressed. Spending a whole day and $100 in gas to get this thing is a waste." She just has no love for the hobby. If anyone is passing through Rochester towards Albany let me know. I still want this cab really bad. It's #1 on my wanted list. If I can get it I'll just hide in my office at work! |

My wife's dad is an avid golfer. She never saw him at all on the weekends, when she was growing up. Any time she even THINKS about giving me a hard time for my hobbies I threaten to take up golf again. |

My wife was in the garage when I was working on my machine and knocked the neck board off, breaking the glass tube and screwing my tube. The first thing she did was say 'don't worry we'll buy a new one', she's awesome. |
