I think they have an auction about 3 or 4 times a year there at the fair grounds. --- End quote --- Where do I find out about these auctions in SD? I haven't seen any. I would love to attend a local auction. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be great. Zeno |

Went to the San Jose auction. Was there at "opening". Thought that the kentic display in front of The Tech was cool. I'm in Sac too and there isn't much here. The closest auction are the ones in San Jose. SLion: where in Sac do you work? |

The next one coming up is December 1, 2007 at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds at Fiesta Hall, 344 Tully Rd. in San Jose, CA. |

I went to the California Extreme on the Aug. 11th auction. I was hugely disappointed on the machines I saw. I think this was because there were a lot of machines for sale inside at California Extreme itself. Sellers would not have to pay a premium to sell at the Super Auctions when they could post their prices on machines inside the adjoining show for free. Their show looked nothing like their flier. I did show up late and was hoping that many people had got their early for the buy it now and left with a lot of the good machines. I don't think that happened. There weren't a lot of gaps between the machines. I also live in Central Valley and it would not be worth my time to travel down there unless the auction improved. I was expecting to see something similar to their Texas auctions. I've seen better machines at my local Circle K. |

Over on the KLOV forums, there are about 20-30 bay area collectors there, it is the place to go. I too live in the Central Valley and the only auction is San Jose. Super Auctions have dialed them back, down to 1 a year now save for the CAX one, because the buyers are fickle i.e. most of us don't put up with their "OOH LOOK! A Donkey Kong. Haven't seen one of these here in 3 years, who will give me 7000!" crap. I will be there in December, trailer in tow just in case :) |
