dkjr problem
ElfShotTheFood:
well, after reading the manual i found that the little wire is a power jumper wire that provides the same power as the board already has. why would i need this then. the answer is i don't ( i think). i assume that the wire supplies power to the other board when using the edge connector. which my machine does not.
i saw a pic of an open popeye cocktail this morning that appears to support this theory. it was connected to the machine with the edge connector and had the little jumper wires.
so i am back at square one. i'll be pulling the board to check things again.
anyone near the jersey shore with a eeprom programmer?

Well, it turns out the dkjr board did not have a z80a cpu in it. the chip it had is a MAB2650A 7983 GHG8316 MOY. so i took the z80a out of my popeye ct and poof, it works fine.
Hopefully this will help somebody else in the future to remove the curse known as eight ball action.
now i have to go save my popa again and again.
