King of Kong premiere EXCLUSIVE !!!!!!!

<< < (5/7) > >>

shardian:
I believe NIVO's post was originally under the assumption that they both went to the same event. I don't see the big deal personally, and saw it as a non-issue that has been blown up.

Alot of junk has been dragged into this thread from other threads, and it happens with every single Koolmoe/Tommy/Chad thread on the board. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't P&R get (technically) shut down for the same reason? The picking here and there used to be all in good fun, but a certain handful of people have dragged way too much malice into the arena.
The way I see it, some probations need to be thrown around to wrangle things in. But hey, I'm not a mod so carry on!

Meh - always a subjective thing. I think the premier that KMC attended is cool, but I thought his opening salvo was of the "mine is bigger than yours" variety... I could, also, have been suffering from cranial-rectal inversion at that moment.   :)

The thread read a little different last night....

Notice alot of editing by Saint.

The thread is less harmful now. And gives a perspective of the West Cost premiere verses Mamemasters East Cost one. KMC's attempt at being clever just rubbed a few people wrong, as it should have (I did see what it looked like last night) Perhaps if he had gone about his thread differently it may have not got heated, or perhaps it may have. We will never know.

Best thing to do is go forward at getting this and Mamemaster's thread back on their intended topics. Let's leave the bickering, he said/she said and any of the other drama that has been floating around behind us.

People aren't always going to agree, but we are all here because we do share a similar interest. Why not keep positive communication around why we are here rather than picking out each others differences.

So with that all said.....

KMC it must have been a cool experience watching the underdog going again to win back the record, even if he didn't succeed this time.....

Donkey_Kong:
Well put Mission. I agree, it sure looked different last night.

Anyway, I been working on my Donkey Kong skills and I gotta tell ya that game is hard. I can't believe those guys can get those scores consistently.

Watching players of that caliber play is really a sight to behold.  Most of the people there were just Hollywood Mooks and a** kissers but there were a few arcade nerds like myself there.

Another interesting thing is during the Q&A Steve said that that morning he received an email from Walter Day saying that from that day forward any attempts at a Donkey Kong world record must not only be video taped but an official judge from Twin Galaxies must be present as well.  Furthermore, if the record is broken the video tape will be sent off to all of the judges who will independently view it to certify it is qualifies. Not only that!  The PCB board from the game needs to be sent out for inspection.  They must have heard that he was going to be going for the record that night after the premiere.

Also, Billy Mitchell is one of the judges.  Conflict of interest anyone?

Twin Galaxies seems to have their noses so far up Mitchells a** that they will do whatever it takes to make sure that his record isn't taken.  Amazing.  It almost makes me wanna go for the record :)
