Want to build a sliding mirror

Hey guys can anyone point me to a product or  link on types of motors i will need in order to build a ceiling mounted mirror. I wanna build one that has wood doors that slide out and reveal the mirror. That way I can have my mirror over my bed and when not in "use". It can slide the nice doors back covering up the mirrors which many chicks think is tacky. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYA!!!

pointdablame:
It's not just chicks that think ceiling mirrors are tacky.... it's human beings.   ;D

Linear actuators or a track and motor would probably work though.

Ewwww. Ewwww ewwww ewwwww.

DaveMMR:
Ceiling mirrors are awesome for getting ready for work while lying in bed!

By the way, I'm weird with glass and I'd be completely uncomfortable with glass hovering above me waiting for that one particular earthquake to shatter it and kill me while I sleep.  Your neuroses may vary.

From the sounds of it an earthquake while he was sleeping would be safe, you know with the wood doors and all.  It's the earthquake while he's "entertaining" that he'd have to look out for.

I would think that some sort of linear actuator is the way to go.  Also you should look into tempered glass mirrors, I don' t know if they make them or not.  Another option is Plexiglas mirrors, as long as they are mounted very flat and placed somewhere they won't get scratched (like the ceiling) they are virtually indistinguishable from glass mirrors and decidedly safer.
