You got that right CG.  When we pulled up the old carpet to lay down tile there was a ton of sand and dust and the old pad had been ground to a powder in places.  I will never install wall to wall carpet again.  It is tile or wood floors from now on.

I love wood flooring, however, I also enjoy having some rooms with nice, thick, high-quality carpet.  Rugs aren't quite the same...

I may have to tear up the floor in my living room soon... old hardwood flooring that has warped over time from humidity.  Not looking forward to it.

yeah, but if its nailed down flooring, it's a ---smurfette--- to get each and every last little fastener up...grueling work.

Using a 48" crowbar to pull the boards up, now thats FUN!!!!   ;D
