Quick disconnects

CGRemakes:

I hope someone is able to help me.  I recently purchased some joysticks/buttons from Bob Roberts, but completely forgot to purchase the quick disconnects.  He has a minimum shipping charge of $6.00, (that's his policy, I understand that), and the item itself only costs $5.00/bag, so I have a real tough time paying $6.00 to have them shipped.  I was hoping if someone either had some extras (I need 50) or was planning on purchasing other equipment from Bob if they would be willing to purchase a bag of 50 quick disconnects, and I could just mail them a check to cover the charges.  I know Radio Shack sells them as well, but they are $1.69 for a bag of 10 disconnects, and they are not as good as the ones Bob sells.  Any help would be appreciated.   :)

Well... you could try your local auto parts store...

supposedly they sell the .187's QD's in a decent quantity for a reasonable price at NAPA's (but the one I went to appeared to be out)

you can also "get by" with .250 qd's which are readily available everywhere (HW store, afore mentioned autoparts store) *shrug*

just an idea/option ... you can probably order these for cheap online from an electronics place with minimal shipping... I'll see if I can dig up a link but i'm think like a mouser or digikey or whatever type place may be able to work as well..

EDIT previous thread on QD's  (apparently ultimarc sticks use .250's... and there's a bad link to some electronics store that had the .187's cheap)

*shrug*

EDIT 2 froogle search for .187 QD's

Cue-Ball:

I just bought a pack of .250s at Home Depot.  I used a set of pliers to tighten the connection and have had no problems.  Think i paid about $4 for a plastic container of 100.

Brogner:

i bought some .187 insulated qd's from mcm electronics  http://www.mcmelectronics.com  they were $3.36 for 100 when I bought them.  Shipping was a little high, $7.00 for 2 packages.  They are having free shipping right now (from an email they sent me). 14 bucks was still cheaper than what you can get from happcontrols for 200 qd's

Zeitgeist:

Here where i get my stuff from:
I think the shipping may be decent.
The diconnects go for $4.50 for 100  + S&H.
They ship very quickly.

Here is the link to the site Brogner just talked about.
These seem pretty good - I like the full insulation.
They are now selling for $3.65 per 100.
If the shipping is free for you than you really can not beat the price unless you find some for free.
