Lexan - Other Names

Superdude:

I know this was asked 6 months ago but I lost the thread.  Does anyone know the other names lexan goes by?  I am having an extremely tough time finding lexan in Chicago.

Psyklops:

You shouldn't be having any problems... I can order it in and I live in a small town of 40,000 people in Northern Alberta, Canada.  Check with a glass shop instead of looking at the Home Depot type stores....

BobA:

I got mine at home depot where it came with the brand name Lucite-Tuf.  I think the chemical name is polycarbonate sheet.

Superdude:

What department did you find Lucite-Tuf?

Cue-Ball:

I also used Lucite from Home Depot.  On my 2nd control panel build they didn't have a piece of Lucite large enough so i bought "Optix" instead.  They're basically the same thing as far as i can see.  Both of them drilled and routed about equally.  Ask someone in the store and i'm sure they can direct you to exactly where the stuff is located.  I paid under $20 for a sheet of Optix that was large enough for me to cut two 39x16 control panels and still have a lot left over.
