i never imagined thered be that much money in it. i guess i thought they just did it for the love it. how much must the conductor earn then?

I bet there are at least 500 out of work cellists in the NYC area... and now there is one job opening. Wwhen you consider most musicians actually lose many, if a few make 6-7figures, it still is a low average. Especially if you play your own music... once the "pay" was divided among the band, I usually didn't have enough to cover my bar tab. Plus all the money I had to spend on gear and studio time... but the worst was all the crappy shows I had to go to so I could "support" the other bands in the local scene, and try to plug my own crap.
