T-Molding Slot Width
Pages: (1/1)
gajaman:
I am trying to determine the width of cut required for t-molding so I can buy a cutter locally.
The slot cutter on T-Molding.com has a kerf of of 0.075". Is the kerf the depth of cut or width? and how much is 0.075" in metric? I've tried to convert to metric but work out that 0.075" is about the thickness of a piece of paper!
Help!!
VMJ Team:
The cutter is most likely 1/2" deep...the 0.075 is the width(thickness) of the cutting blades...so 0.075" x 25.4 (mm conversion) = 1.905 mm
CitznFish:
1/16 is the width. you can convert that to metric.
BobA:
Sorry I am a bit confused.
If 1/16 is the size then it equals .0625 inch
.075 is not equal to 1/16.
Which one is right?
BobA
CitznFish:
1/16 slot cutter bit is what's used for T-Molding.
