why do people type in like, 'valley girl' speak?

<< < (4/6) > >>

(+_+):
It's like, become like, some form of like, epidemic.

I hear it all the time and it drives me crazy. I have actually had to move into the nest train cab because I end up rereading the same paragraph over and over again due to the liguistically challenged stupidity of it all. I base its overuse on people's limited vocabulary. I once heard one female college student use it so excessively that I almost lost it. I felt like jumping up and saying "LIKE, LIKE LIKE LIKE, LIKE, LIKE LIKE LIKE, LIKE" some some quacking, hysterical, mental case. That's how much it bugged me. But hey, that's just me.

No because he would just say "you c-c-c-c-can't spell!"
 ;)

And then there was Jimmy Two Times, who got that nickname because he said everything twice, like:  "I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers."

Great movie.

It's been a part of the vernacular for roughly two decades now...get over it, there's far worse things to be concerned with. If the overuse of the word "like" is a major cause for concern in your life, then you've got it pretty good.
