Thanks for going into so much detail on it's build, I'm putting together one myself soon and found it most useful.

That is a very nice looking panel (and an even nicer looking website).

I do have one question? Do you stand or sit when play with that panel? I have tried to build standalone panels before, and I always found them too tall (on the desk) to play while sitting, and not tall enough to use standing.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

My panel is still sat on my Black&Decker workmate at the moment  :), but this seems to give me the right height for both standing and sitting. But when sitting I do need to put my chair (office type) on the heightest setting.

I sometimes consider cutting down my Cherry Master Mame cabinet into a standalone standing panel. It would give me a lot of room for controls, plus I don't plan on keeping that cabinet forever anyway.
