Wow, does this really happen in some diabetic incidents??  Property damage, violent outburst?  I thought people just kinda zoned out during them.  Yikes.

Yeah, anything from passing out, to seizures to sleepwalking-type violent fits.

Well, goes without saying but don't hold it against her.  Glad she didn't cut herself on any of that glass, too.

I'd still expect them to (a) pay for repairs, (b) apologise and (c) explain. If they're really hard up for cash but appear genuinely sincere about (b) and (c) then I'd probably consider going 50-50 or something but even though I don't think that people should feel ashamed about having a medical condition, that's not the same as not taking responsibility for it.  :dunno

Well, sure - that would be the right thing to do.  But sounds like any payments for damage would have to be sorted out by her and Mr. Landlord; Peale's got nothing to do with that.
