--- Quote ---Mike Sedor, manager of Andy's Liquor on South Broadway in Rochester, says the business recently increased its keg and tap deposit to $150 to discourage people from stealing the kegs.

What moron is going to pay a $150 deposit rather than go someplace else? :o
--- End quote ---
There are only two liquor stores in town (each has 3 or 4 branches though). The $150 deposit is for the tap and keg, the deposit for the keg only is $30 (used to be $10).
ChadTower:
So the deposit on the tap is $120?
And what town only has two liquor stores? Even in a 4000 person town there are usually 3-4. They're like donut shops.

There are two big stores, Andy's liquor and Applo's liquor, each have 4 stores I believe, so a total of 8. Then there are some small ma and pa stores which don't sell kegs and don't have a very wide selection of wine or beer.
Did a quick yellow pages search and there are 15 total liquor stores, 7 which are one of the two big chains (relatively speaking).
ChadTower:
Ah, yes, if you're looking for nonmainstream kegs, sources will be sparse.
I've found lately myself really enjoying this stuff[/i]. Bottled two hours away, sold in half gallon bottles within about two weeks. Their Red Rock Ale is great. I think I'm paying a dollar above that price plus deposit.

Which would you rather have, in soda terms? 150 calories of caffeine and raw sugar or 0 calories and an artificial sweetener linked to Alzheimer's? The 0 calorie sweeteners are just now, after 20 or so years of heavy use, showing their long term effects, and the studies coming out are not pretty.

I'm barely drinking the diet stuff anymore, either. I'm definitely nowhere near "20 or so years of heavy use".
And high fructose corn syrup (the stuff they use in full sugar pop) is hardly good for you, either. See: Type 2 Diabetes.
