Is there anything in Houston arcade wise?  I'll be staying here for a about a week and wanted to see if there are any arcades or stuff like that around here.

Try this:

Personally I would try Dave & Buster's, I had
a great time there when I was in Cincinnati last
year.

Basically Dave & Busters and Jillians.  Jillians is very similar to Dave & Busters.  Asside from those two, you are looking at arcades in local malls.  Some have them, usually pretty bad though.

The thing about D&B and Jillians is the games are the latest and greatest out:  Time Crisis 6 or 7(who knows anymore), skiing, snowboarding, lots of driving, even more House of Deads, and many more.  Hardly any old school style.  But it is lots of fun since alcohol is flowing and kids under 21 can't get in without an adult.   :applaud:

When I went to D&B I think the oldest thing I played was
a Tekken 4.

I did see some games I'd never seen before and didn't know
made an arcade conversion -- the one that got me was the
Star Trek Voyager one -- I think it was based off of the PC
game Elite Force but the levels seemed different.  I was wondering
if this was a homebrew thing D&B cooked up (if so it was very good)
or if this was actually being made somewhere...

(Edit) - NVM, I found it on KLOV... the one I played was the
sit-down version.

It did get me thinking later about how to add it to my own cab.
I tried it with my copy of Elite Force (vs trying to find a way to
emulate the true deal) and it works, but the control sucks because
it was designed for a keyboard/mouse.

I found a place called FunPlex, looks like they have a lot of arcade games. http://www.funplex.org/cyber_games.htm
