IBM 028-004 output 15hz?
« on: June 17, 2007, 01:46:01 pm »
hey all,

been searching and cannot find it anywhere
but ive got an old IBM monitor with model 028-004
and also has on front PS/1 SVGA, but im assuming
the SVGA bit is only limited as the connector is a
9 pin VGA connection.

im trying to setup a Jamma Test Rig
but am unsure if the monitor properly outputs 15hz

[ lol as posting this curiosity got the best of me..]

ok, ice got it actually working,
but cannot stablise the picture
its not Vertically sync'ing
and when the vert Sync is placed anywhere
it makes the monitor picture like a thin strip

like so,

so i guess the main Q is, can i use this monitor?

will i have to create a circut to get the V hold?

or have i simply wired it wrong?

how much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?!  8)

lol,

thanks in advance if anyone read my novel

I think the PS/1 was a vga output with 640x480 display.   This will not work as an arcade monitor.

There are some apple and commodore monitors that are very useable as arcade test monitors that you can find at thrift stores or computer junk yards.
