Help ID these joysticks and buttons

It's hard to see from the pics if they're 4-way or not.  If the holes in the base that the shaft passes through are round, they're 8-ways; if the holes are diamond shaped then they're 4-ways.  Check Ponyboy's post in Buy/Sell/Trade for handles, he's got at least the red in 3.5, I dunno if he's got the right shade of blue.  The Purple and Yellow are going to be tougher.

The buttons look like your garden variety short leafswitch buttons.  Try Bob Roberts, Centsible Amusements, MikesArcade, ArcadeShop, QuarterArcade, LizardLickAmusements...

XtraSmiley:

Thank you very much.  Yes I think they are 8 way as I don't feel restricted when I move to the corners.  They also work great so no need for any new parts.

I saw that BR is selling a cheap Chines leaf joystick.  Is this any good?  Are they terrible?  They seem like a better deal than a NOS wico for $40.

Do you think my buttons are the short ones?  I read on BR site that if it is wood it is probably long ones.  I guess I will measure before I buy.

Thanks for the tip on the sticks.  Do you know anywhere where I can get all the colors I need?

Kremmit:

The cheap Chinese stick is usually dismissed as crap.  But if the ones you've got work well, then why would you want to replace them?  All you need is new handles.

Maybe I'm wrong about the length on your buttons; from the pics, I though it was a metal control panel.  Measuring is a good idea.

re:  colors- What am I, your personal shopper?  ;)  Seriously, I don't keep up on everybody's inventory, you'll just have to have a look around.

XtraSmiley:

ha ha, thanks for everything man.  the ones I have work GREAT.  I want to replace the Happs 4 way on another panel with a Wico 4 way, but since I cannot find a new one (for other than $50) I was looking at the $10 Chinese one.

Smiley,

From my experience, the old Wico's came in grey for 4-way, and black for 8-way. We sell the Chinese version, and it really is crap. The only reason we carry it is because it's the only leaf-switch joystick that you can still get new. You're better off rebuilding the ones you have by replacing the grommets and cleaning up the handles. You can usually pick up the grommets on eBay, there may be someone else that carries them as well. It's pretty tough to find the Wico's new, and you will pay out the nose for them if you do... On the buttons, if the nut is recessed, they are probably the "short" variety. The purple you're looking for is going to be a tough nut to crack; we stock many colors, but no purple. You can drop me an email or pm if you need any more help putting your project together, you may have other options that you're not aware of...

Thanks,

Chad
