I have everything wired up now   I need to order another LEDWiz  but hey, it's only money.  Actually I am not that mad, just wish I would have figured out how many I needed to begin with.  I hope to have the computer installed by the end of February to officially test everything out.  I would like to thank the MaLa guys for there great FE and for helping me configure the LEDWiz plug in.  Also thank SHOCK_ for making my layout to use with MaLa.  I will post more pics this weekend.

More Pics!!  I have all the buttons and both LEDWiz's wired up, I need one more LEDWiz.  I still have one or two small things to finish wiring but that is easy.  Once I get the computer I can run the USB cables and run the wiring for the fans.

Could I get a copy of your vertical layout, I would like that, but with this background instead. Would it be an easy fix to sub in my background?

That is a ton of wires.  :o  Excellent job using all the wire ties, it looks well organized.  Did you write up a spreadsheet to keep track of what is wired where?

You can get that here http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=62096.0

No spreadsheet, its not as bad as it looks.  Different colors for different connections.  I know what everything does so that's really all that matters.  Its not the prettiest looking wire job but it all works.

UPDATE!!

Finally got the computer installed and working.  Currently loading the games and trying to get everything configured correctly. Everything  seems to be working that I have tested so far.  I will have more pics here in a day or two.  Hopefully next month I can order the monitor

Nice job on the wiring.  Those cable supports that screw into the wood are a great idea.  I usually just use hot glue, but have been burned by that approach in more ways than one.

Having seen how they do wiring in car stereo installation, my first inclination is to use the lume like they do.  Hell, when I had a guitar synth (which was a floor unit) and guitar rack preamp - particularly as I was running stereo between the two and, including my guitar cable, had five 20' cables - I went to a local store and got a few yards of 1" lume.  All nice an tidy.

That is fine until you need to fix something and have to trace the wire.  I thought of using lume myself that decided to do it the way i did.

Almost done, I just ordered the monitor BillLabs BL27CB0P, once I get that all I need is the glass top.  Hopefully I will have the monitor installed in two weeks and it works.  I also plan on finishing my dart board that weekend.  More pictures will follow when I get the monitor.

Monitor is mounted and everything is working.  Just need to wait for the glass to come in and do some minor things.  I might change the t-molding and joysticks to red, not sure yet.  Hopefully it will be all done next week.

Now THATS a monitor!

Congrats on the build up.
Looks real good and I bet its in for a thrashing?!
I like the idea of the 2 steering wheels, great for Championship Sprint. All ya need is some foot pedals.

Again, well done and enjoy!

PS nice glass clips, heh.

WOW!!!  Holy bananas that thing looks great.  I am so jealous - I wish I went through with the 27" cocktail build but I wimped out after I got the box tgether because it was too big for the living room.  You are living the dream!   :notworthy:

Very clean.  That deserves a spot in the living room, instead of the game room.  Great job.

squirrelly - fantastic job.  love it!

question on your 2 player control panel.  how do you like the placement of the steering wheels? are they centered on each half of the CP?  I am looking to do something similar but worried about the p2 stick getting in the way when in spinner mode (versus with the steering wheel on it).

congrats again!

the joystick doesn't really bother me as much as it does when using the trackball.  the joystick is more in the way for the trackball is what i am saying.  Overall i am very happy with it and the only thing I would change is the placement of the player1 wheel/spinner. It is right above the buttons so when using it your hands are in front of each other.  I didn't want to make that panel any bigger because then it would look really funny.  The steering wheels are centered on the sides but slightly above center from top to bottom if you know what I mean.  When I get home I can give you measurements if you want them.

You may have already mentioned this, but what inch steering wheels did you get for the spinners, and how is it for racing type games?

They are the small one 5 inches and they work pretty well.  They would be better if they were slanted.  do they make USB pedals?

I'm sure you could find something even if you had to hack it from a pc steering wheel.  So those are the smallest ones they carry?  I wonder how well the 7 inch ones would do.

Very nice.  My next cab project may just have become a table now  :D

Quick question:  the bracket that is holding the top of motherboard's PCI/AGP cards ... is that a standard item you can order or a custom-made thing.  I was looking for something like that for my cab.

custom made, got the idea from Whammo's cocktail table.  Just a piece of aluminum from Home Depot that I bent into shape.  Very easy to make just takes a little time to get the correct height.  then just drill some some holes for the screws to go in.

Very Nice cab! VERY, nice.

I have to comment on your CP cause mine is gonna be identical in layout and exact hardware. I just need to order my 2nd TT2 & mini wheel from Randy.

do they make USB pedals?

You could get a couple Happ modular pedals with pots and connect them to an A-PAC.  Maybe you could build a small mounting box/plate for each pedal and put the A-PAC in the box.  You could have the second pedal connect to the other box (w/ A-PAC inside).  Or if you really want, an A-PAC in each...  It's USB.
