Wedding Reception Music?

<< < (7/9) > >>

Me and the wife danced to Tim McGraw/Faith hill "Your my best friend". That, in my opinion, is the perfect first dance song. My wife let me pick all the special music for the reception, weird huh? I guess she had enought to worry about as it was.

I briefly considered the late 90's song, "Who got the hooch?" as that was our song while dating (It played multiple times on pretty much every date we went on). ;D Didn't figure that would be appropriate. :laugh2: :laugh2:

AtomSmasher:
Wow, some good lists of songs.  Thanks.

Mr. Greenjeans:
I was once a dj, about 10 yrs. ago, and I have to agree weddings were the worst. Along with keeping the couple happy, you have to keep the mother of the bride happy (usually she is the one paying you). It's a juggling act. People get so caught up the the details they forget to have fun. Oh and tipping was a joke too, those cheep ---daisies--- would slip you a ten spot for a $600 - $1000 gig (i guess they were already tapped out by the time it got to paying me). Anyways don't sweat it, it's just music. Good Luck

Jouster:
I'd love to help you out...but for our reception we had a steel drum player.  We did a tropical themed wedding...flowered shirts, leis and lots of rum.

I'd vote for the non-traditional stuff...make the wedding different!  I haven't been to wedding other than mine that was very different from all the others.  Y B normal?

Mainly because most Brides have envisioned their wedding since they were old enough to talk. Non-traditional weddings best fit with second marriages, or vow renewals. Me and the wife plan on doing a Hawaiian beach vow renewal in a few years.

We did have a luau for our rehearsal dinner which was a blast.
