Wedding Reception Music?

I think the only song anyone really listens to is the first dance.  we did a cool thing and I made a mix of "just the two of us" by Bill Withers and then about 1/2 thru is faded into a more contemporary song that my wife picked "lady" by Modjo.  It was pretty cool and kept kind of a traditional feel and injected our taste into it.

ChadTower:

We used an Adam Sandler song for the first dance.

SirPeale:
Our DJ introduced us as 'The Pearles" and my wife's family as 'The Birgs' (maiden name was Briggs).

I don't think he got a tip, or at the very least a very bad one.

ChadTower:
Oh man, if the DJ did that at my wedding, my wife's relatives would have pelted him with anything within reach.  People were drunk before they even left the church.

Oh that's bad....our DJ was late....like an hour late.  Luckily, due to weather, the ceremony was delayed 1/2hr.  But he was supposed to have the music for the ceremony. Luckily, the venue had a pa system with cd player, so that all worked out.

Also, the date of one of my wife's friends showed up (before the DJ) wearing a cheeseball tuxedo with ruffles, and a top hat, so I went up to him thinking he was the DJ  :laugh2:

No, the DJ didn't get a tip.....or any referrals.

EDIT: changed "that's not too bad" to "Oh that's bad"....brain fart when posting.
