yea you can have some problems , you have to make sure that  every piece of track is in great shape  , throw away any with any minor flaw , crack , i have gone as far as hooking a train transformer to my track. i have a group at yahoo with photos of most of my cars , but i haven't done any updates in along time. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DARRYLSLOTSCARS/  here are some photos of times set up in my   rehearsal space

dude, i used to LOVE my old slot car stuff.  There used to be a hobby shop growing up that had the larger slot car tracks. You could rent time on the tracks with either your own car, or rented ones....good times....

wow thats a lot of track darry! they actually opened up a slot car shop in my home town not long before i left. id always wanted to try a big track and when theres finally an actual shop i end up moving!

The shop I used go run em at had the 1:24 scale cars...they were cool.
