Perfectly safe, though in the same state as when I got her.  I should clear a path to that one and do some real troubleshooting now that we both have much better skills than when you found her.

I'd say it's worth it. Especially if you actually like Ms Pac. You could always go the MAME route to get it up and running again. Just having the artwork on the marquee, CP and bezel is a great start. Or being black already you could hunt up some Galaga artwork.

I'm currently nursing a case of pac-regret. I missed a call from a friend last weekend who saw a Pac-Man at a yard sale--$50 in working condition. I even had the day off and cash in my pocket. I just missed the call. I don't think my wife would've killed me for that one either as it would have been a quick project to clean it up and (probably) sell it.

Here's the update...

I went down to see the cab...the guy was pretty cool. We chatted arcade for a while, he offered to sell me a Pacman cocktail. (Wanted to but just couldn't). Turns out he builds and sells cabs for Mame conversions.  His garage was full of cabs like 15-20 or so.

The Ms. Pac...

Over all it was a solid cab. wood was in good condition with some chipping along the back edges and one chip on the right front of the CP.  The back door could use a little love too. The t-molding has been removed.

The marquee is in great shape...no scratches that I can see and the art is bright and clear. CPO art is ok...there is some damage at the corners.  The glass besel is also in ok condition, some scratches....but the art is in surprisingly good condition. A few bubbles and one half-dime chip in the upper right.

The coin door has the switches and mounts but the mechs are gone. as are the front two crome coin entry plates. No rust though...

As for everything else, it seems that all the little things are there. Handles, Wheels, Harness, back door switch, power supply, CP, 4-way, buttons, brackets to mount the monitor, brackets to mount the board, etc...

Then again I don't know what is supposed to be in there but it looks complete.

In any case he gave me a Jamma harness and the cab for $50. and it's now in my garage.

Pictures and my plans for her will come later.

Some other stuff that this guy had for sale:
NOS Ms. Pac CPO
Quart of Ms. Pac blue paint
New Ms. Pac Harness
PacMan coctail, complete but dissassembled Monitor had lots of burn.
1942 cocktail complete but no monitor.
about 3-4 cabs

I got the feeling he would have sold me anything in his garage if I wanted to pay for it. He had stacks of new 19 inch monitors and a few tri-syncs. one arcade VGA card, t-moulding, and other random crap.  While I thought his prices were ok, I think better deals are out there.

Sounds like he'd had his own plans for that cab at one time. How much did he want for the Pac cocktail? I'm working on fixing up a Ms Pac cocktail right now and I'm held up at the part where I have to pay $55-$80 for replacement glass.
