Check out this remote controlled electrical outlet. Anyone use one of these in their cabinet? I'm thinking I might give it a whirl for my upcoming bartop. Requiring the remote to turn it on could be a double edged sword, though. Nice to control access (especially for kids) but maybe not as convenient. Heck, I could see using these to control access to my daughter's electronics arsenal. |

Pretty interesting idea for MAME cabs though. |

I bought a couple of those as Xmas gifts this past year but have no idea how well they worked. Yeah, to effectively control access, you'd have to build a little locked box so they couldn't remove the cab plug from the remote socket. |

Looking around, I found them on geeks.com even cheaper at $15.99. Might be even cheaper elsewhere. Who's the manufacturer? No site I found so far mentions the manufacturer and the strange advertising blurb makes me think these are cheap POS from China or something. caveat emptor. |

If you wait around until holiday decorations are on retail shelves, you can get all sorts of outdoor grade remote control outlets for good prices. Far far better than these. |
