Opinions on how to secure a joint on a racing setup!!!! Hey guys I am putting together a racing setup using this kit playseats.com, very nice setup except one small issue. The hinged joint where you attach the steering wheel, i have this as tight as possible but the joint has some play if you jerk on the wheel of about a quarter of a inch, the setup has 1 big bolt with a washer running into a tack welded nut on the other side. I'm trying to lock this joint into place would you guys recommend a lock washer or some kind of epoxy etc to make this permanent, i do not care if the joint moves again i have it where I like it. Just looking for some help

Roach clip. Putting it on the CP will cause a burn on the art.

I'm looking at the picture on the web page to see what is moving... Is the whole shaft that supports the wheel platform the part that has the slop in it (the part that lets you move the wheel further/closer)? If so, I'd suggest wrapping it in plumbers tape for a non-destructive fix. Just wrap until you have an interference fit, slide the wheel shaft back into the base and tighten that clamp down.

Not so good, you'd have to hold it while steering/shifting.
I prefer one of them ciggerette holders like Hunter S Thompson used to use.
Then I can just keep it in place puffing away with no interruptions.
As for the slop in the steering wheel, why not try the washers?
If they don't work out remove them.
A picture would help, I don't see the kit at the link you provided.

Here is a picture the plate the steering wheel hooks to is where I have the slop im trying to tighten it down...a lock washer, maybe a ribbed washer or some lock tight what do you guys think
