boykster:
as long as they're not destroying the siding and getting inside, no major harm, but the side of your house will soon have a nice layer of bird poop on it

 :P

Chris G:
The worst problem you may have is if they're near your bedroom and you're a light sleeper.  The baby birds in the tree next to our house wake ---my bottom--- up every morning at about 5 am this time of year.  In fact, it just started this morning, strangely enough...

Here is info from wiki: Swallow

Looking at the picture of the swallow on that page, I think that is what they are.  It looks like they could actually be a good thing to have them around since it says they feed on insects.  I'm not really concerned with the noise because my house has thick insolation and dual pain windows, so once the windows are closed, I pretty much can't hear anything outside.

I guess I'll just let them be.

Yup sure looks like a swallow nest to me...Main problem you'll have is that you will never get the stucco clean again.  Also...Where one pair builds a nest others follow and they will build a whole swallow city there.  You deside if you want that.

At one of my old works they became such a problem that netting was installed to keep them out.  They just figures out how to build anyway...and they never stopped building.

All in all they are facinating to watch but I wouldn't let them build on my house.

TOK:
We went under a low concrete bridge in my buddies boat, and there were literally hundreds of those nests. When the birds were startled and took flight, there were so many that it got noticeably darker in the tunnel from them blocking the light.

Watch them fly if you get a chance, they're like little fighter planes. They dive fast and bank into turns in a way I've never seen other birds do. They're totally harmless and non-destructive, other than crapping all over the side of your house.
