Ok I read through past post and it got me even more confused. I recently purchased a KeyWiz Max, and I'm attempting to understand the shazaaam button. Essentially I want to use this as my admin funtions. Can I do the following: Wire Pause Pushbutton for both pause and shazaam, Then withing the software asign pause + P1 = Esc pause + P2 = Esc pause + P1 Coin = admin button Pause + P2 Coin = admin button etc. This way the only "admin" button on my CP is pause Also could I take it a step further and make P1 coin shazaam and then address a combo for pause as well? I want to keep the button layout simple, but not lose any admin features. Also thought that would be better then Esc key that might accidently get hit. |

It is discouraged to have a dual purpose button on your CP. If you were to have one button be both Pause and Shazam the game would flicker between paused and unpaused states while you held down the button for the Shazam functionality. The topic has been hashed and rehashed several time in the few months that I have been around these forums. If you want to use the Shazam functionality of the KeyWiz I suggest that you mount a button on the underside of your CP where it can be easily reached but out of sight. Other wise have the minimum of admin buttons on the CP, pause & quit as well as a dedicated Shazam button. TTFN  Kaytrim |

You can also have the "only Admin button on your panel" be the Shazaaam! button. Just use the Shazaaam! button plus; Player 1 Button 1 for Enter Player 1 Button 2 for Settings Player 1 Button 4 for Exit Player 1 Button 5 for Pause ...etc. This is based on the defaults settings, and is part of the reason these definitions were included in the default set. RandyT, So you recommendation would be the wire P1 as the shazaam key? Then the other comment is to use a dedicated button for shazaam. Any other comments before I order my buttons. |

The single pause/shift button works fine on the Ipac because it's shift function works differently. Tiger-Heli has a nice page about the shift functions HERE. He doesn't address the pause/shift configuration of the Ipac though, which is my preferred configuration of ANY encoder. If you remap the Ipac so that the Pause button is also the Shift button, and all the admin functions are mapped to P1 buttons, it makes it very difficult to accidentally hit admin functions. |
