Late like always (one year I got it in 3 days early!  my record)

But it was fun to see my wife shouldn't have worked last year.  She just put me in an new tax bracket.  She was self employed so she had 15% taxes on what she did make (but she never seemed to add that)... And worse of all... We barely missed a few GOOD tax breaks because of her little income.

I tested it out (because I know we where close) by removing her income, we would have made almost her ENTIRE YEARLY SALARY (ok, shes a nanny).  Within 400 bucks.

Sucks...

I sold my condo in this tax year, and made a tidy sum (but didn't buy another home).. and got spanked pretty hard capital gains wise.

What hurt more from the pocketbook side of things is this:

If I put aside 2k in an IRA  My taxes would go down by a grand.

But that still meant I had to drum up both the IRA money and the remaning tax bill which was a lot (well to me and my standards it was a lot) =P

(the point being I need to put away 2k to save 1k, if that makes any sense...)

*shrug* no matter what it stings man.. it stings...

Frostillicus:
i did consulting last year and a lot of freelance where they don't take out taxes- those 1099s suck! "this information is provided to the IRS...." Why, why I say?? forms galore.  just hope I fall under the radar and they don't scrutinize too much.....taxes just suck.
RubbrDug:
For me it turned out the other way...

Aargh... my taxes just finished me!  :P
