Aohh. Raaiiight.
USSEnterprise:
How does covering a notebook in bamboo show that Asus is ecofriendly? didn't a bamboo tree have to die to make that laptop? Poor bamboo tree...

Shows what you know. Bamboo for one a grass, not a tree, and is one of the most self replenishing "wood" like materials available. A bamboo "tree" is capable of growing as much as 4' PER DAY. The plastic in the laptop is also all recycleable (not all plastic is) and the parts are labelled as such.
Sure it's not 100% eco friendly, but in that industry, its a huge leap forward. Probably not a viable route to go for mass adoption, but at least Asus is considering this.
shorthair:
Right, what he said. Also, in most urban places, bamboo is a scourge. My brother cut it down at his place a few times. He even poured gas on it.
