I did get her to play Puzzle Fighter earlier today. and the Sonic game is soem jap game, I played it once and it would only work with the mouse so I assumed it took a trackball. |

Almost impossible to play without a trackball if I remember correctly. |

I think most of the hardcore fighter game players use Japanese sticks these days- Sanwa and Semitsu. I'll echo the other comments about buying a keyboard encoder. They can be had so cheaply that the only real reason to do a keyboard hack is if you think it'll be fun. If you're looking for a trackball as well, you'd do well to look at the Ultimarc Mini-Pac, since it'll do your sticks, buttons, and trackball all on one interface. Also, don't let the product descriptions confuse you, you don't have to order the expensive "Opti" version, any USB version of the MiniPac will do the job. The real difference between versions is the inclusion of the wire harness, which can save a huge amount of time and effort, but costs. You'll have to weigh the price against the cost of your time and the cost of the wire and connectors by themselves. As for what cab style, anything that doesn't have the cab sides enclosing the control panel sounds good, and the wider the better. If you're an experienced woodworker, maybe you should consider doing an original design instead of a copy? Whatever you do, don't use one of those old computer monitors unless they're big enough- nothing looks worse than a big cabinet with a tiny monitor. For reference, most 21 inch PC monitors are about the size of a "standard" 19 inch arcade monitor- they don't measure them the same way. If you've got a 17" computer monitor, it's really not going to look right. |

Picture of a Gauntlet Legends cab If I settle with this cab I need to find the Dimensions on it if anyone can help that would be kewl. (If I get the dimensions for it I will be making a file in autocad which I will share with everyone) --- End quote --- If you want dimensions let me know; I've got one of these sitting ~5ft from my desk. ;D I'd be happy to take a few measurements for you. One thing I can tell you, though... they're HEAVY; mine didn't come with a monitor, and it still weighs in at over 300lbs. But they're sweet looking, and big enough for the original 4-player panel. Mine's having a new 2-player CP built for it so that I can MAMEify it without damaging the original cabinet/artwork/panel. If you decide to buy this one and have bits you don't want, do let me know; I'm interested in a few extra bits... |

I will work on putting it into autocad and when its done I will post it on here somewhere for people to use. |
