Hawk,

Get a KeyWiz or GPWiz eco encoder board.  It'll be the best $21 you'll spend on that thing.  Hacking a keyboard can be a disaster.  Besides you will need inputs for the stick as well.  Figure a coin button, or coin door, start, pause, exit game, 2-3 action buttons and the stick you have close to 10 inputs there.

Yeah I'm going to get it, and set it off to the side, I'll probably work on it once I get out for summer break.  I'll have to cut a back for it though.

Please don't put a joystick on that thing.  Millipede is one of the greatest arcade games ever made IMO.  Restore it or make it a Centipede/Millipede multi as ArtMAME suggested.  You can always find another burned out crappy cabinet for your MAME project.

Hawk Daddy:

My mame project already has a cabinet. I would be buying this to do as one suggested the mouse hack, and put a cheap computer in it.
