IF you have Visio you can export the shapes as .ai files and use those.  Or you can trace simple outlines from the Happ's exploded view pictures.

All I have is a visio set of stencils I made for my CP's.  I based them on the set available for download here..added highball TB, ls-30, atari cone, etc.  Guess I could send those, but they aren't ai format....exporting them as ai loses a lot of detail.

Yes, please do send me anything along these lines you have and are willing to share.  If you'll email them to saint@arcadecontrols.com then I can post them for download, and will give credit accordingly.  Thanks!

they are:
atari start button
snk ls-30
happ ultimate joysick
happ super joystick
happ trigger (super style) joystick
happ competition
happ pushbutton
oscar pro spinner
3" highball w/mounting plate
oscar restricting plate

Thanks for the work guys.  This will be an enormous help to me as I am currently trying to lay out my control panel.

These templates look great.  I am new to Illustrator and have some questions that are probably simple to answer.  I saw the tutorial on how to trace characters a generate them, but what is the easiest way to make rounded off outlines of my CP.  It's not a rectangle, it's more of a t-shape.  I also want to make directional arrows pointing outward from the joystick.  Is there a tutorial out there to help me with these shapes or can someone describe how to do this in illustrator.  Thanks,

In illustrator, select your CP shape and go up to EFFECT...STYLIZE...ROUND CORNERS.  This will get rid of all the harsh hard angles.
