| Standalone USB trackball recommendation? |

Howdy- I've got a big ol' Happ trackball in the middle of my control panel & couldn't justify squeezing in a second one, considering my available real estate. There are a few 2-ball games (Marble Madness, Cabal, & Blood Brothers are all that come to mind, but I'm sure there are more...) that tempt me to have a "temporary" 2nd trackball installed, i.e., keep 2nd trackball in the cabinet & pull it out & just plop it down on top of the control panel for the rare occasions when I want to play a 2-ball game. Any recommendations on products that will do the trick? Thanks, -Jason |

Edit: Just noticed you wanted USB scratch my question. I think your cheapest for a standalone USB trackball would be the X arcade http://www.x-arcade.com/trackball.shtml It is only $50 right now. |

Thanks--that looks like quite the bargain. Even cheaper than many "normal" PC trackballs I've found. Is there a limit to how many USB "mice" you can hook up? I'm running MAME through MALA under Windows XP & already have: - big Happ trackball - ACT light gun 1 - ACT light gun 2 - Tornado spinner - Apache push/pull spinner Adding a 2nd trackball will bring me to 6 USB "mouse" devices--eek! I've just about finished putting my control panel together at home & am configuring my MAME PC at work, so the 2 have yet to be fully hooked up to each other. Thanks, -J |

That question might be best answered in the software forum. Right now it is a bit out of place in the Hardware Review forum. |
