I need a midway power supply, actually.  I don't think my Pac project has one in it.

It's worthless, so there is no reason you should need one.

Uhm... yes it is.  I offered $150, because I'm pinballjim and I offered what it's worth to pinballjim.

That makes it no less of lowball. It is far less than what it is actually worth. Whether or not the offer was a lowball was the arguement taking place. Please do not change the arguement to suit pinballjim's needs.

OK...ok...ok...it was a LOWBALL offer... is there something WRONG with that?

Best of luck to the seller.

I don't know what that has to do with you denying it was a lowball, but ok.

I don't think so. Any seller should know how to deal with that. I was just making a point that $150 was in fact a lowball offer. pinballjim said otherwise. We argued. I think he finally gets it, so it is done. Good luck to the seller.

It shouldn't have been posted publicly. Offers are meant to be made by pm, especially low ball offers to deter off-topic banter such as this.

Making a fair offer to a colleague of the hobby, and offering to get what appears to be a hulking piece of junk out of an old lady's basement are two different things. In the latter case, "$150 and I pick it up tonight" would be a valid offer. For a fellow hobbyist who even has taken the time to buy a new CPO, and by the wording of the post is not trying to offload "a hulking piece of crap in the basement",  $150 and I pick it up offer is insulting.
ChadTower:

I tend to make offers in the thread with the intention that even if it gets rejected, at least it sets a baseline for others who would make offers after me.

I'm not a big fan of lowballing, personally.  If a person wants an offer I'm going to offer them something on the low end of market value.  Have I gotten games for way below?  Sure, but those prices were dictated by the seller, not an accepted offer.  I see a substantial difference between offering $75 and buying for a $75 asking price.
