Does the E-Stick rotate 45* "on the fly"?
Cue-Ball:
From what i've seen, the Ultimarc E-Stick is the only joystick which can change from 4-way to 4-way at a 45* angle (Q*bert style). Can someone who has this stick tell me how easy it is to change from "normal" to "tilted" modes? Is this something where i can just open my CP and throw a switch or do i need a screwdriver and 10 minutes worth of fiddling?
Sasquatch!:
I don't own one myself (yet), but Ultimarc's website sez:
--- Quote ---All types can be switched 4-8 way with one hand without the use of tools, but you will need access to the back of the control panel (eg reach through the coin door). Just rotate the plate which is held by friction
--- End quote ---
AlanS17:
I don't rememebr where I saw it, but I heard of one example where someone used extender rods poking through the front of the panel to rotate the plates.
(Or something like that.)

Sasquatch and Alan -
I think what both of you are referring to has to deal with switching the stick from 4-way to 8-way. What i'm concerned with is switching from 4-way (up/down/left/right) to 4-way diagonal. I don't forsee really using the stick in 8-way mode. I just thought that having a 4-way that also worked well for playing Q*bert would be a bonus.

nah, it's pretty quick. there was a thread about a month ago where people were talking about the possibility of setting it up so it could be switched without even opening the control panel, but it was never meant to work that way. the way it was meant to work, however, is pretty simple and tool-free. just lift open your control panel and twist. by the way, 1up has one on his pac-mamea.
