USB steering wheel question
« on: March 27, 2002, 11:52:54 am »
I have a USB steering wheel w/ pedals with 4 buttons.  I don't really care about using buttons on wheel, I just want to drive racing games with it.  Any way to get mame to recognize this device and use in driving games?  Perhaps treating it as a 2nd mouse?

thanks!

The windows version of mame work fine with the normal PC USB wheels, but they are joysticks.  (so you need enable joysticks in mame.)  Just install the wheel in windows and it should work in mame.

Unless you have a USB spinner wheel.  But I've never seen one.

I have a Thrustmaster Charger steering wheel and I can only get MAME to recognize the steering part but not the gas pedals (and brake for that matter).    Any ideas out there?   I saw someone mention a MAME version called ANALOGMAME in another post -- is that the only answer at this point or could it depend on the wheel model too?

Everything works fine in PC games however (outside of MAME)
