What size are holes for leaf buttons?
Crowquill:
Just curious what the standard size holes were for leaf buttons. I know 1-1/8" is too small.
whammoed:
1 3/16 is large enough for leafs.

If you're using original butons, remember that most of them have little guide tabs so they won't rotate in the holes. This won't be a prob if your hole is big enough, but they won't sit flush if the hole is exactly the size of the inserted base. Sometimes you can slap them down flat with your hand, but you may need to file a tiny groove on each side of the hole to make it fit.

Good point. In wood, sometimes you can get them to "squish" down. In metal, you either cut out the little triangles with a file, or cut off the tabs on the button with a utility knife.

I was told that those little teeth were there to dig into the wood and keep the button from spinning in wood control panels. I've also seen metal control panels that have the little notches to accomodate the little teeth on leaf switch buttons. My leaf switch buttons are in 1 1/8" holes but they were VERY tight going in. Take Whammoed's advise and drill 1 3/16" holes and they should fit without filing off the teeth/tabs. Never hurts to experiment using a piece of scrap wood first.
