Not a very bright business man either. He sold Pixar to Steve Jobs for 10 million. Disney bought it for 7.4 billion.

Right or wrong, I've always heard Lucas being heralded as the "master story teller". In terms of business sense, I gotta at least give him credit for insisting on the big stake in the toy sales.
What pissed me off was how long he held off making the movies available on DVD, then when he did, he screwed around with them all. I'm glad they released the original versions finally.

I have the re-released DVDs with the original versions....*Not* impressed....In the original version of New Hope, there are still scenes from the "Special Edition". For example, there is a scene in the SE with the land speeder coming over the top of the screen and heading for the outskirts of Mos Eisley. It appears in the original version on the re-release.....very disappointing...just to make sure it wasn't in the actual orginal, I popped in my VHS version from 1992 and sure enough....the scene wasn't there.

you sure you popped in disc2? The re-re-re-re-released "original" versions have 2 discs....disc1 is the SE version, disc 2 is the original.
EDIT:
darn, you're right. I just checked my episode 4 (disc2) and you're absolutely correct, the transition from the scene where they're up on the cliff/hill overlooking mos eisley has the "flyover" transition scene that is an obvious digital re-master / add-in.
