A Lion in the Dog House.

I just netted myself a gutted Super(?) HangOn cab in what appears to be in decent shape. Some Happ buttons, T-molding and a box of 20-30 Marquees, most of them glass. On top of that, I walked away with most of a Kenmore stereo (no amp though), misc SEGA MS components, about 15 Atari 2600 games, A box of Mad magazines, a bunch of Star Wars EP1 posters, a 17" PC monitor and some other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. I was secretely hoping for a GGG controller or at least a Ipac, but beggers can't be choosers ;)

The entire deal set me back six hours of drive and pick up time and $40 in gas. It would've been only 4 to 5 hours of time and $20 or $30 in gas but I got lost following Google's craptastic map directions. Should've taken the longer route, I would've got there and home sooner. The trip also totally drained all my funds for the rest of the month. So I've got a truck with 1/4 tank of gas and I don't get paid until the 1st. That ---smurfing--- sucks.

Boy is my GF PISSED. I'm in the dog house on this one. The garage is a massive mess and needs to be cleaned out so there's really no space in there for the cab to hang out. I'm going to shove some crap around or stuff it in the shed. I just have to be really careful because there's a leak in the shed.  :badmood:

The garage has to be cleaned out before I get my next cab.

I got the cab from an old member here on BYOAC. He got a killer job in a different state and couldn't take his MAME stuff with him. He was planning to MAME the cab (I could visualize what he was planning and it was a pretty cool idea). I'm not sure if I want to MAME it or revert it back to a HangOn cab.

All in all, for being a lion in the doghouse, I think I made off like a bandit.

I'll get some snapsots and upload them later this afternoon.

Sell some of those marquees here to get you some funds for the rest of the month.  Some of the other stuff you could eBay.  I don't think the GF will be pissed so much if you can recoup some of the money you spent.

TTFN

From studying photos, it would appear that it was originally a HangOn cab that was converted to a Super. The cab lacks the molded plastic of the Super and is definately the shape of the original, but the side art is different. I'll snap some photos and post for verification later.

I have to say, spending your month's salary to the point you can't afford gas for a few weeks probably wasn't the brightest idea, but congrats on the score anyways.

One's perception of brightness depends on how long one has been in the dark.
