Looks like they have started work on the Megatouch.   It will be interesting to see how it works.

Probably won't work since Merit uses proprietary hardware and security keys.

there is a known hacked version of max 2006 around(i have seen the drive)no key required..
but u still may need the hardware to run it..

known by whom? First ive heard of any 2006 version being hacked. Ive heard of 2007/2009 force but 2006 is news to me. Also, what version of maxx is 2006? Jade 2?

I have also seen it ... running in a MAXX cabinet with no key...  and it was a Jade2.

On the main game category screen the graphics in the lower left and right corners are different than the real version... I believe it said 'tournament' in a curved pattern as opposed to the old style Merit Logo.

well i took a few mins and some google search on this
it turns out that if u ditch the merit stuff >hardware< and rock on with mame
u can do it,but rem u are not running ion or such.
i will dig futher into this matter as time comes my way.

Ive tried the mame version years ago. I remember it being a real pain in the arse to get working. Im pretty sure you have to use a mouse instead of touchscreen. I think i tried an elo and microtouch touchscreens. The elo may have been resistive instead of capacitive.

Not worth the effort.
