--- Quote ---You mean that mame now create a folder by game and put screenshot inside? --- End quote --- Yep, that's what I mean ;-) It seams that this change has been implemented since v.110 But not so many frontend take it in account, aren't they? Perhaps not very useful if you get your whole screenshot set from the outside...but once you have to do a screenshot by yourself, the screenshot would be saved in your screenshot folder within a new folder...in which the frontend won't read in. |

I'm going to support that in AtomicFe in the next version. I don't know for other FE , may be Mala or GameEX supports that already , If Loadman or Swinduw read this thread they could confirn or no. |

--- Quote from: Jayme65 on March 17, 2007, 10:25:45 am ---It appears that mame saves now screenshots in a folder named by the rom's name. So I would have 2 questions about it if you please: - Is there an utility to transform your "old" screenshot folder into the new format? Thanks very much, --- End quote --- I wrote a program that does what you're asking, I think. It was written to prep screenshots for the xbox, but I believe it'll do what you're asking for. Does the screenshot get renamed when it's inside the folder? on the xbox, screenshots are set up like this: d:\emulator\screenshots\[NAME OF ROM]\0001.png d:\emulator\screenshots\[NAME OF ROM]\0002.png d:\emulator\screenshots\[NAME OF ROM]\0003.png etc. This allows the emulator to look in 1 folder and cycle through all the screenshots. The program is here: http://xbox.nugnugnug.com/index.php?name=UpDownload&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=97 There are other renaming tools there as well in case this one doesn't work for you, or you don't do DOS. The program will do the following steps: 1) locate a romname.zip filename 2) see if there is a .png file with the same filename 3) if both exist, it'll create a folder with the same name as the filename 4) move the .png file into that folder 5) rename the .png as 0001.png The ROMs are only needed to match up screenshots to ROM names. They aren't modified, deleted or touched in any way. You can override the filename that it gets renamed to, but I don't have an option to not rename the file at all. (I could easily add this if you need it) -jeff! |

That is an interesting turn of events..... I don't think I like it though... not that I liked it when they changed it before (for a while now, it had been the first snap taken was romname.png and any additional snaps were romname01.png ect.. or something like that). The only way I could see this new storage method being useful is if you could take a series of pngs as raw frames are very efficient for video playback on a 3d surface. |

The FE can do a "Slide Show" of all snap stored for a given rom instead of displaying only one Snap. Can be a good alternative for whom don't want or can't use the Circo's Emumovies pack. |
