X64 Windows XP
« on: March 11, 2007, 11:21:07 pm »
I just added another hard drive to my PC and installed Windows XP PRO X64 OS. (I have Win XP Home 32bit on my other drive)

So far i have pretty much everything i have on my old system and this X64 OS is running great. The only program so far I've found that does not support X64 is AVG antivirus, though I'm sure there are dozens more.

I mostly chose to install this X64 OS for the up coming Gamecube emulator new release with full Windows 64bit CPU support for greater performance in gaming. I will also be testing how PC games run on this new setup, although they were not designed for 64bit operation i have a feeling i might see some overall improvements on the ones that were able to still be compatible.

Anyone else running 64bit yet? Any advise for my new step up in OS? How much of a performance gain should i expect to see over my 32bit counter part?
