Wii users/Star Wars fans - would a gyroscopic controller work for Atari SW?

BazookaJo: was the response of the DS bad, or did you just miss the dual-handed yoke?
Havok: Didn't you say something like an A-pac would be needed to interface the Ram yoke to a pc?

Hi Shorthair.
The Dual Strike wasn't great IMO - I could twist it up/down and left/right, but doing both at the same time did not feel intuative for me and lacked the 360 degree feel of the yoke (I bought the DS BTW in case I ever wanted to convert a proper SW yoke ;))
That's why I'm hoping the G-Pad will be more fluid, though it will still lack the centering of the yoke. How this will effect the experience however I'm not sure.
We shall see...

Joe.
P.S. ignore the previous post - what I meant to say is that I'm NOT a wii owner that's why the G-Pad would be cheaper for me :dizzy:

BazookaJo: yeah, thinking over what you said on the DS, that makes sense. As well, on the gyro, for two reasons: you have to hold it parallel rather than perpendicular to you, and that the pad isn't fixed to something makes for easy sloppiness in this case (think the difference between free hand rifle vs on a bi- or tripod). But DS's are cheap, and since they can be used to mate a yoke, then I guess I'll get one. Thanks.

Hey for $6 it's worth a try - let me know what you think of it (maybe it's just me).
As for the G-Pad I ordered it today - will give my feedback when it arrives.

Joe.
BazookaJo:
Okay, G-Pad arrived yesterday.
Bottom line - forget it :( It's just not accurate enough for crosshair use.
Basically once you're out of the centre position the crosshair jiggles around something chronic, and it isn't just Starwars. Even in the windows calibration/test screen the result is the same :(
Shame really, otherwsie it felt like a real alternative for the yoke - maybe once they fine tune the wii code, or maybe when a PC adapter comes out for the PS3 controller we'll be in business.

Joe.
